Basic knowledge of car audio wiring

Because the car in the running will produce a variety of frequency interference, on the car audio system listening environment has an adverse impact, so the installation of car audio system wiring put forward higher requirements.

1. Wiring of power cord:

The current capacity of the selected power line should be equal to or greater than the value of the fuse connected to the power amplifier. If the use of less than standard wire as a power line, AC noise will be generated and seriously damage the sound quality. The power cord may heat up and burn. When a single power cable is used to supply power amplifiers separately, the length of the cables from the separate point to each power amplifier should be the same as possible. When the power line is bridged, there will be a potential difference between the various power amplifiers. This potential difference will lead to AC noise, which severely damages the sound quality.

When the host is powered directly from the mains, noise is reduced and sound quality is improved. Remove the stolen goods from the battery joint thoroughly and tighten the joint. If the power adapter is dirty or not tightened, the contact will be poor. The existence of choke resistance will lead to AC noise, which will seriously damage the sound quality. Use sandpaper and a fine file to remove dirt from the joint and rub in butter. When wiring in the vehicle power system, avoid routing near the generator and ignition device. Generator noise and ignition noise can radiate into the power line. When replacing the original factory installed spark plug and spark plug cable with a high performance type, the ignition spark is stronger, which will be more likely to produce ignition noise. The wiring of power cables and audio cables in the car body follow the same principles.

2. Method of grounding:

Use fine sandpaper to remove the paint from the ground point of the car body, and secure the ground cable. If the residual paint between the car body and the ground end will cause contact resistance at the ground point. Similar to the dirty battery joint mentioned above, contact resistance can cause AC noise, which can seriously damage the sound quality. The grounding of all audio equipment in the sound system is concentrated in one point. If they are not grounded at one point, the potential difference between the acoustic components will cause noise.

3, the choice of car audio wiring:

The smaller the resistance of the car audio wire, the less power consumed on the wire, the higher the efficiency of the system. Even if the wire is very thick, due to the reasons of the horn itself will lose a certain amount of power, and will not make the efficiency of the whole system to reach.

The smaller the resistance of wire, the greater the damping coefficient; The larger the damping coefficient, the larger the redundant vibration of the horn. The larger the cross-sectional area of the wire (the thicker), the smaller the resistance, the larger the allowable current value of the wire, the greater the allowable output power. The closer the box of the main power line is to the car battery connector, the better. The insurance value can be determined according to the following formula: Insurance value =(The sum of the total power of all power amplifiers in the system: ¡ ± 2)/Average voltage of automotive power supply.

4. Wiring of audio signal line:

Wrap the audio signal cable connector tightly with insulation tape or heat shrink tube to ensure insulation. When the connector is in contact with the vehicle body, noise may be generated. Keep the audio signal cable as short as possible. The longer the audio signal line, the more susceptible to interference from signals of different frequencies in the car. Note: If you cannot shorten the length of the audio signal cable, the extra length should be folded, not rolled up.

The wiring of the audio signal line should be at least 20cm away from the power cord of the driving computer module circuit and power amplifier. If the wiring is too close, the audio signal lines will pick up frequency-interfered noise. It is better to separate the audio signal cable and power cord on both sides of the driver's seat and the passenger seat. Note that when it is close to the power cable and the microcomputer circuit wiring, the audio signal cable must be more than 20cm away from them. If the audio signal cable and the power cable need to cross each other, we suggest 90¡ ± Intersect.
